Inspired by forms found in late 18th century Court French this chest is a statement about the beauty and elegance of that period. The graceful serpentine lines found on the front and ends are duplicated in the complex shape of the hand carved post, which flow into curvaceous legs supporting the case. With a combination of dramatic walnut veneer and rich lustrous finish this piece has both presence and visual appeal. Specially designed antique brass hardware with mirrored acanthus scrolls and drapery swag pulls complete this handsome piece.
